Huamantla is situated 162 km from Mexico City by the federal highways 150 and 136 in the State of Tlaxcala, Mexico.

Huamantla was founded in 1534 and is famous because of its Festival, which is celebrated in August with a cattle and handicraft exhibition, and the streets covered with multicolored carpets made from sawdust and flower petals.
