Tlalpujahua
 

Tlalpujahua is located 99 kms (61 mi) from Zinapecuaro in the State of Michoacan by the same highway in Mexico.

It is an important mineral zone, which produces gold, silver, copper and lead.

Among its main attractions are:

  • A beautiful Baroque-style church, built in the XVII century. This church has a painting of the 'Virgen del Carmen' (Virgin)

  • El Parque Nacional Hermanos Rayon (national park), located on the Del Gallo Hill

  • The Museum of Minerology and History

Local artisans make leather goods, pottery, straw items, featherworks and blown glass ornaments like spheres.

The authentic traditional cuisine offers delicious dishes like mole and pozole.
